Chūn was a human warrior monk who was revered as a hero in his home village of Tiānchì. During his time there, he tirelessly defended his home from invaders, ranging from petty crooks to rampaging animals. He sought no recognition for his deeds, but fought only out of pure desire to grow stronger. He was blinded by this desire - constantly seeking out tougher foes and pushing himself to the limit.
One day, rumors spread of a sinister, beastly rabbit that was picked off anyone who wandered too deep into the forest. Chūn learned of this and sought the monster out, taking it as a potential challenge. Though, once faced with the beast, it revealed itself as a demon - something not even Chūn could best - and watched in horror as it gashed his heart out.
As he felt the world go dark, he heard an ominous voice in his head. It asked, Do you wish to live? To which in his final breath, he uttered yes.
When Chūn awoke, he was no longer human. The rabbit demon now lived within him, and he knew he could no longer live amongst society. And so he left his home, in search of a way to break his curse.
